VISION

Reference DESIGN Workbook Pages 1 – 2

It starts with a Vision.

Creating an online course begins by getting clear about your Vision, and bringing it into focus. Let’s start from a place of TRUST. You were drawn here by the voice of your Soul, and there is a teaching living within you that longs to blossom. You are the heart and hands of Spirit.

The first step is gaining clarity about your Vision. I encourage you to write, create and develop from a place of deep listening, asking the questions below of your Soul, not your head. Your mind is a wonderfully powerful function, but when it comes to Vision we must go to the field of the Soul, which holds ALL possibilities. It is not restricted by rational thought, so called ‘reality’ and fear. The Soul is a wondrous Mystery of wide open, expansive, eternal birthing of all that is brand new and beyond imagining.

Our job is to bring ourselves to the disposition of deep listening, openness, receptivity and surrender.

Similar to the “Art of Allowing” painting process, we rely on our Intuitive Intelligence to guide us. We approach this creative work as we do the blank canvas, staying present to the emergence of images that arise from soul, and stand as a holy witness.

At first the process is pure play, as we dance and delight in color, movement and explore the rhythms and organic accidents. Anything is possible at this stage. Next, we begin to discern what is asking to be born through us, and work to ‘articulate’ that vision. It involves a deeply sacred conversation, a dialogue with Soul, a mystic relationship between our spirit and the unfolding of divinity.

The more we clear space and move ourselves out of the way, the more we become available to the magical alchemy beyond limited ‘knowing.’

*Along with your journal, you may choose to create a vision board or painting to accompany your discoveries during this stage.

WRITING PROMPTS

·        What is your soul asking you to bring to the world? Describe this vision to the best of your knowledge, in as much detail as you can.

·        Why are you passionate about this Idea? What really lights your fire when you think about sharing it with others?

·        What can you identify as a consistent thread of passion and interest throughout your life?

·        Identify your top life-changing events and the lessons you learned.

·        Are you in a powerful transition point in your life that is part of your reason for offering your medicine and gifts NOW? What is the message you want to convey to others about this?

·        An online course gives you a powerful platform to speak and send a message to the world. What do you want to say?

·        What has prepared you for bringing yourself to the online world?

Name all the professional and life experiences you bring to the table.

·        What kind of creative process are you excited to teach?

·        Do you imagine this as a ‘technical’ teaching, a guided ‘journey’ experience, or combination of both?

·        What will your students discover and learn by participating in your course

·        What difference will your students experience (about art or themselves) when they study with you?

·        How will your course be different or unique from others who’re offering similar themes?

·        Who is your course best suited for?

·        What are your greatest strengths? Ask 5 of your closest friends this question and listen. It’s helpful to know the gifts others receive from you.

·        When you imagine teaching online, what excites you most?

·        When you think about who your favorite teachers have been, what did they share in common?

·        Do you have a working title for your course yet? If not, create one and remember that everything is flexible at this point.
